Technology writer, startup entrepreneur, and status quo wrecker, MBA candidate, MIT SLoan School of Management

Erica Swallow is a technology writer, startup entrepreneur, and status quo wrecker. She is currently an MBA candidate at the MIT Sloan School of Management and her thoughts have been published in a number of esteemed outlets, including Forbes, Entrepreneur, The Wall Street Journal, and The Huffington Post, among others.

Passionate about collaborative consumption and the sharing economy, Erica is a technology journalist and international speaker, having spoke about her work at conferences and events across the world, including WOMMA Summit in Las Vegas, Social Marketers Summit in Prague, Social Media Brasil in São Paulo, and SXSW in Austin.

Erica previously served as the director of community for tech startup Contently, where she managed online and offline community building. She also previously managed the highly successful supported content program for tech news site Mashable and assisted in developing and implementing the social media marketing strategy for The New York Times. Erica also has experience working on a number of inspiring projects with amazing people at TechStars, WeHostels, Saatchi & Saatchi, and New York University, and spent nine intense months founding the quick-to-fail, peer-to-peer delivery app, Deliverish.

Erica is a graduate of New York University’s Stern School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Marketing. She is expected to graduate from the MIT Sloan School of Management MBA Program in June 2015.
